|

Hi,
I just bought a Tom Tom One and (apart from being very happy! :-) am using POIW to load replacement sounds and rename the sounds (e.g. from Beep1 to Gatso 30, etc...).
Basically the problem is that when I copy the modified data.chk and ttn files back to the One it doesn't start, it freezes at the startup screen.
When I bought the One it had version 5.41 loaded, so first I upgraded to 5.42. Then I took the ttnsystem and data.chk files onto the PC for editing (repeated a couple of times as well to make sure it wasn't that I missed a step). Everything seemed to work fine...
I've narrowed the problem down to the ttn file that I copy back to the Tom Tom. When I delete it (and leave the modified data.chk on) it works fine, but without the correct text labels for the sounds.
Can anyone help here?
Thanks!

Presume you are using Poiw 1.0g?
Have you tried the obvoius.... scrap everything yoiu've done so far and start again with a new download and the instructions printed out.
Sounds daft, but usually works for me! |

The data.chk files have to match exactly the version of TT you are using. So if you have 5.24 you need the data.chk file for that version. Any other one will cause all sorts of problems inclufing freezing and wrong menus being displayed. _________________ Peter

thanks guys for the responses...
Andy - I am using POIW 1.0g. I did scrap everything and start again a couple of times when I was doing it, but it kept happening... I guess I could try again this weekend, time heals all (maybe)... :-)
Peterc - its not the data.chk file which is causing the problem, but I do have the right version of it. its the ttn file. when I delete the ttn file then it works fine (with the modified data.chk), but with the ttn there it doesn't start.
Oldboy - thanks, will email him if it still doesn't work this weekend. |
