If you upgrade it yourself and it fails then your warranty will be void, and you would then need to send it back for repair at you own cost.
It's much better to send it back and let them do it, if they mess up it is still covered and they would replace it.

I take full responsbility for my actions, I just cant afford to send it back. if it fails, I will simply buy another one but not bt-338, I wont buy globsat after they failed promises to deliver the no auto-shutdown.

Each to his own, but I find the Auto Power off to be useful, saves you running the battery flat if you forget to switch it off.
With 15 hours of use from one charge there is no need to have wired in and should you be in the situation that the battery is getting low you can still plug in the in car power lead and carry on driving whilst it is charging and use your sat nav.
