I have the TTG Classic with 5.1 software.
I was just wondering if there was a simple way to put a selection of shops that i have to deliver to, in order of distance?
The 5.1 software has the itinerary page but have never used it - is this what im looking for?
I have a selection of postcodes for shops scattered in about a 40m radius and wanted to put them all in, & have the TTG sort the quickest and fastest route for the whole list?
I hope that makes sense? |

It makes perfect sense! .
Unfortunately TomTom have never had the sense to implement it.
A lot of people were hoping that it would be implemented in either V6 software or the Home software (TomTom seemed to imply it would with talk of "managing itineraries"), but v6 on the new range of units doesn't have it and the version of Home produced so far doesn't seem to do anything much!
If you've not tried the Itinerary function, it is worth a look, but it is quite fiddly, and to me looks as if it was bolted onto the main firmware in a hurry and never fully sorted out.
For your application, it WILL take your list of postcodes (so long as you have a map version that supports full 7-digit postcodes) but you will have to make a stab at putting them into a sensible order yourself.
It's one of the most rubbish things about TomTom in my opinion. |

The other, more fiddly, way is to use Autoroute. Get it to optomise the route, save it as an AXE File, then convert it with a program called ITNConv.
This saves it as an ITN File with the Optomisation intact. _________________ Richard
