|
|
The standard mount that the 350 comes with is not really suitable for use in the motorhome, at least not in ours, as the windscreen is too far away and we don't seem to have a suitable place for mounting the fixed mount that is flat....
I have seen somewhere a photograph of the Nuvi with the Streetpilot soft mount (I used to have one!) but I don't see how it fixes, as I could buy another and this one was quite good. Also the fixed mount for the 2610 is still fixed on my dashboard, and I am loathe to try and get it off as it may damage the dash...
Does anyone know of a source of mounts other than the original one please.
Thanks in advance

My van has a shaped dashboard, The fixed pad plate stuck well with only 2/3 of the adhesive pad in contact.
Extended arm fixings for garmin I3 may help as the ball is the same size and the nuvi cradle will pop straight on.
There are some details re I3 mounts around here somewhere |

There are very few pictures showing how this works, as Garmin have not released a photo of the unit, but this may have been what you previous saw. Instead of the original mount with a suction pad on the end, it's a slightly smaller mount which clips into a base which you attach to the dashboad. It may (although this would need checking) be the same dimension as the Streetpilot soft mount you refer to.
Alternatively, there is the Brodit mount, which would attach to a vehicle specific mounting platform, which might be even better for your motorhome. |
