I have a TT Go 510, and a Nokia N70

The N70 isnt fully supported (I cant see my text messages, I cant sync the phone contacts etc)

Which phones ARE fully supported (in terms of all these features functioning) ?

Thanks in advance

Ben

Hi subvertbeats.

I've had major success with the Nokia 6230i on a 910.
Clear speech (using the external mike), full phonebook functionality and full text facility.
Lovely jub. :D

do you think they will or can update the TT firmware to support N70, N80 etc? I use an N70 at the moment and will be getting an N80 soon, and I'd like the use of things like text messages and phonebook support.

I don't think they'll add functionality - it seems to be a standard set across the range. I can receive texts on mine (a Motorola V620) but cannot wrie texts. Since I'm usually driving anyway, not much of a hardship.

If you can live without texts, you can get phonebook capabilty by the following (obviously you need to be able to connect your phone for calls):

1) Create a folder on your TT called Contacts
2) In this folder create a file called Contacts.txt
3) Manually add contacts using the following syntax:

"Name","Number" include the quote marks

This should give you a phonebook option for your phone in the TomTom phone menu. As for sorting it, TT will do this alphabetically by default.

PS:

Try the above using a folder called contacts and the file contacts.txt : I used a capital C by mistake....
