If using an HP rx1950 as part of a GPS bundle, is it safe enough to updates the ROMs and firmware of the PDA as they become available from HP?

I had a trawl through HPs site and there appears to be updates for the rx1950 but not the rx 1950 Navigator. I'm assuming the PDA is the same so is it best left at original firmware levels
