Just had a thought (now that's a big event for me). Has everyone who has had problems used 2.82? Just scanning through it looks like people who haven't had any problems with version 3 have never installed 2.82.
Might be nothing but thought it was worth throwing it out for ideas.
Not sure how i ended up with Audio v.2.3
All i can do is give you the run down of my firmware updates to date..
Unit shipped with firmware 2.7 not 100% sure which audio version though suspect v2.0
Updated to v.2.9 using the Garmin updater and suspect thats when I got audio v2.3
Went back to v.2.7 manual update
Then manual update to v3.0 with audio at v2.3
I really wish Garmin would nail down which Audio version we should be using... then make it available to all..... or am i asking too much  |

Should have been this... not sure what happened there...

Alternatively does anyone know how to completely uninstall the FW and then install from scratch (I don't just mean downgrade then upgrade). If anyone knows how to do this I will give it a try. |

I might be going mad but didn't you report problems with 3.0 anyway? If that's the case and you never had 2.82 installed it rules my theory out. |

I had all sorts of problems with 2.9 nd 3.0 but I had never installed 2.82.
Willing to try anything once as I can always go back to 2.7 which seems to work well enough. |

So much for my idea then. I thought there my be some pattern such as the people experiencing problems had all gone 2.7, 2.82, 2.9, 3.0 but it looks like you went 2.7, 2.9, 3.0 and are still getting problems. This either means that my idea is a load of rubbish (most likely) or the problem has something to do with 2.9...
Has anyone gone straight from 2.7 or 2.82 to 3.0 without installing 2.9? And if so are you having any problems?
