Yeah, I'm up for that. I can write reviews and stuff and if it has any problems I can find them
And with Alix up and down the motorways and me trundling around London we would give it a thorough testing
Definately sound like a plan to me anyway !! _________________ Gary

We will be looking at dedicated in-car/in-cab systems more in the new year, not sure we can get you any to review though, it's bad enough for us. We usually have to give 8 pints of blood, hand over all our credit cards, sign our house and car over to the company we're loaning gear from, sacrifice our first born, change religion, become a monk oh and if that's not enough we have to agree to keep below the speed limit. Now that's a tough one!
Oh and sign our sole over to the devil! |

Why what sort of shoes do you wear that have such valuable soles? |

We have VDO Dayton in all our trucks, and I've never seen an option for weights or bridges.
I also found it very slow to give advice after coming off a motorway for example - never tells you to turn right or left etc. until you're almost on the junction!
Nice big screen, split screen option, remote handset and all that, but other than that.......... A lot of money for not much return over a 'normal' satnav I reckon.
Oh yeah, ours all have traker built in too, so 'the boss' knows where we are at all times _________________ If it ain't broke, fix it 'till it is! |

I was reading this months (Jan 08) Trucker mag and on page 16 is an article about this new system. Its only going to be fitted in New Build trucks, but Daytona have said they are looking at a portable version which they are hoping to be releasing 'soon'.
If they do get it up and running I for one will be sooo interested, again and again my trusty TomTom lets me down because of width or weight restrictions and with the cost of the fines nowdays I reckon that even laying out a few hundred for the system it would pay for itself soon enough....... IF and thats a big IF, it works |

We have VDO Dayton in our trucks. I have found no settings for width, height etc. I prefer to use Tom Tom and get width restriction POI's from POI Warner. |
