I have Navigation 3.0 on my Tungsten T. Is there anyway to get the moving map display without having a route planned.
I'd like to be able to have the POI (camera) warnings whilst driving around, without having to set up a route (a la tomtom).
I started out with MapSonic 2.5 - unuseable (speech FUBARd), then upgraded to 2.5.2, then v3.0. As I have the original T, I have had to junk almost everything else I had on the PDA, to keep enough memory free to run Navigation.

Hi Chris,
As far as I know, you can't use ViaMitchelin as a Camera Detector, you have to have a route planned, (Not sure about VM 4.0). Just a thought, you could plan a route anywhere, and don't follow the directions, you would have to turn the sound off, or It would do your head in, , don't know if it would work.
As far as memory is concerned, get a bigger memory card, and copy the original card onto it, that should help VM run better.
There is an update on the VM website if your interested, 3.3 I think on a Tungsten.
To use the moving map as a location indicator instead of a router was one of the really useful functions of 2.5.2 which was later removed as the software was "improved".
It can still be done with VM4 but you do not get audible warnings of anything when using it as just a moving map display. _________________ - - - - - - - - -
