I have tried to set the Quest 2 to ignore motoways. I have ticked the box which excludes "Highways" but it still routes me via motorways.
Does Highway = Motorway?
I know I set the route via MapSource but in this case I was on motorcycle rally, only had the Q2 and could not set the route beforehand.
How do I tell the Q2 to ignore Motorways? |

It may be long winded but if you go to...Route Setup/ Avoidances/Add/Road Avoidances and place x's on each of the motorways in the area of your planned route you should then be ok.

Yes, but the avoid is a "try to avoid" so it will still use them if it thinks the alternative route is too out of the way.
You could try setting the vehicle type to Bicycle and see what happens. Be prepared for some interesting routes though! _________________ Gone fishing! |

Oh yeah, I hear people saying that Garmin will send you the City Navigator DVD if you ask for it and this will allow you to load the maps on your PC edit waypoints, create routes, examine tracklogs etc. _________________ Gone fishing! |

Yes very interesting ! if you plan a cycle ride from Chepstow to the Aust services which is around 3 miles the route given will take you nealy 60 miles via Gloucester
