Hi gilbates
I have never seen a POI for French Toll Booths. However, I for one would find such a thing very handy indeed. We will have to wait and see if anyone comes up with the answer. _________________ Tomtom Go 720.

alot of us travel around france m8 and it would be great to have the booth locations either for avoidance in planning or just to warn you that the things are approaching and to get your money ready
i do have a peage file here somewhere but alas it dosent work even though its an ov2 , i collected it from a french nav site but it was never created properly and my french is bad at best , so understanding the thread it came from was a tad difficult
hope someone in the know can help very soon i`m back there again monday top to bottom this time |

Why not sign up for telepeage? I did a couple of years ago and wouldn't be without. Think it cost 30 Euros for the transponder and screen mount. Rental is 2 Euros monthly but ONLY if you used it that month and usage charges are the same as stopping and paying a person. You get a monthly statement which is charged to your nominated credit card.
Its really good to just drive to up to one of the telepeage-enabled booths at walking pace and hear your transponder beep, see the barrier go up and away you go. AFAIK all peages have at least one telepeage-enabled booth, including the smallest exits. _________________ Nexus 7 (2013) & Nexus 4/Sygic/CamerAlert

Is it cars only, or can you drive through with a trailer on the back ? |

CharlieG - most of the Autoroute operators. I got mine from SANEF - www.sanef.com. Its probably best to choose the operator in whose area you most commonly make landfall in France 'cos they are likely to have offices on the network near the channel ports where you can exchange your transponder when its battery dies!
Mikeact I think it was for cars (and possibly motorcycles) only when I signed up two years ago. Don't know if its changed. IIRC you certainly can't trail a caravan through the dedicated telepeage lanes 'cos there's a height restricting barrier. In addition you can use your transponder in any qualifying vehicle and clearly a transponder can't discriminate between the different vehicle types it might be carried in. _________________ Nexus 7 (2013) & Nexus 4/Sygic/CamerAlert

Have a look at POI Handler
http://www.poihandler.com/
They have loads of POIs including one for peages
It has 97 listings but I havnt a clue how many there actually are.
Its a start though
Opening the ov2 file in POI Edit gives names for the peages so it would be possible to add others in POI Edit
You have to register to download the POIs but its free. |
