Picking up my TomTom 510 on Saturday...
Can someone let me know if the TomTom will allow you to copy your contacts from the phone and let you dial numbers and show up your text messages etc... ?? and show you who is calling on the tomtom screen with the names that you copied across??
Been hearing rumours that it wont work at all... but then other people saying it will...
I know the 510 has only just come out so if you had the older tomtom that allowed you to connect your mobile (700) could you reply also.
Really need to know this...
Thanks in advance! _________________ Noonster

It will indeed depending on you phone. Go to the tom tom website to see if your phone is compatible. I had a Go 700 with a Nokia 6230 and it worked fine. Also depends on what firmware your phone is running |

Got the TomTom 510 now and it pairs with the samsung great however wont copy the contacts to the pheon which is a big let down
Thinking I will have to sell the phone and get another one... which isnt a problem but just a shame.
The unit itself is ace!!! _________________ Noonster

Is there a way of creating your own phonebook entries? I can't find a way to do it.
There's a directory for contacts that contains recently dialled numbers in a fairly simple format, but I can't create a starter entry for the phonebook so I don't know the filename or file format.
I think with a template, it should be fairly simple to add your own entries into the phone book
Any ideas anyone? |

In the contacts folder make a new text document named " contacts "
then add your entries like this :-
"Spark1e Home","01234567890"
"Spark1e Work","012340987654"
"Spark1e Mobile","07777123456"
Make sure you get all the commas in there - " "," "
You could copy & paste them from your recently dialled numbers & then edit them. |

Don't get a Sony Ericsson if you want to see who is calling you because that part doesn't work. |
