I have a Dell Axim with TOMTOM Vesrion 5 software. I have gone through the upload process as described in the web page for the POI Capture install and the datbase upload.
All was going well until I tapped on the camera logo behind the TOMTOM navigatin software (Capture POI +) to set the preferences. At this point the screen goes black and I have to tap the screen four or five times to get it back and at this point I get a message saying 'can not find mpa file'. TOMTOM continues to work behind the blacked out screen.
I had the free software and data base from easy PC and the system appears to be working with the new database but I am not sure if it is working with the old software or the new?
Can you help me sort out the preferneces issue and confirm that the database is worknig on the new software?
Thanks |

Hi Allister.
You seem to be talking about 2 things at once. There are 2 distinct subjects mentioned, both with entirely different jobs to do, and I'm not sure which you are trying to get working.
You mention 'preferences'. Which Preferences are you talking about about?
First there is the Camera Database, which is set up from within TomTom Preferences and Manage POI. This is a Set of POI's to warn of cameras.
Then there is POICapture, which has it's own Preference Menu relating only to POICapture. This is an Application that has been set up to be able to Record the Location of Cameras.
PLEASE let us know which you are trying to do (as I asked in your previous Post), and we might be able to help.
Incidently, Double Posting is not necessary, and is generally frowned on. Be warned.;) _________________ Richard

Sorry about the double posting, once I sent the first one I could not see the my question and I didnot see an answer so I did it agian, sorry, got it connfigured properly now.
I understand now I have the camera software and database working propperly, it is the POICapture that I think is not, when I push this ICON it just blank and then tells me that it can not find the map? Can you tell me what I should be using the POI Capture for and how to get it working?

POICapture is Version Specific. From your description you might have the wrong Version of TT for POICapture.
Make sure you have the right Version of POICapture for the TTN5 Version you are using.
