Help Please!!! :|

I have just brought a Dconnex BT 308 (It looks Identical to the GlobalSat BT 308 ,same box and included items just different name) to use with my Tungsten T3 PDA.

The problem is being a Newbie to the Pocket Gps Scene I didn't realise that the BT 308 didn't come with any software to run on my PDA.

If anyone could put me on the right track as to what software I will need to get this GPS up and running would be greatly appreciated.

I live in Tasmania AUS and will manly be using the GPS for 4wding to tell me where I am and to map the route I have taken to help get back and to find the track again at a later date. Also some road maps would be OK to plot that route when on the black stuff

Thanks and hope to here from someone soon Scott Thumbs Up

There are systems available for Aus, like CoPilot from ALK and also Navman I believe have an Aussie version available, Destinator also, but these are all for the Pocket PC and not Palm.

Take a look at our Australian Retailers Page as some of these may be able to offer an Aussie software solution for the Tungsten.

G'day tuffzuk:)

Have you checked out Fugawi for the Palm platform? I'm not sure how good it is, but they seem to be able to use rastor maps like the NatMap collection, which would be pretty good for 4-wheel driving. Also, you might want to check out the Magellan site: http://www.magellan.com.au/accessories/accessory_display.htm?part_number=GPSMAGCOMP4030
I'm not sure if this will work with your setup but perhaps worth a try.

Additionally, for Fugawi, they will probably be making Melway or NRMA maps for Tassie soon. You can keep an eye out for them on this page:
http://www.maptrax.com.au/whatsnew.htm

Lastly, if you need more resources for the palm platform, Dale De Priest's page is really informative:

Hope it helps
