I'm going to do a fresh reinstall of CoPilot on my Pocket PC. Do I need to deactivate the CoPilot license before I uninstall it or can I just uninstall it then reactive the license when I install it the next time? How does the activation work? |

I've just had to do the same.
I simply did a hard reset on the PDA, then reloaded CP6 from the SD card. I was asked to activate the licence, which it did without a problem. |

You only need to de-activate CoPilot when you plan to re-install it on another PDA.
Although ALK's system can tell that you are reactivating software which to them is already activated, they can also tell if the hardware is still the same as it was when CoPilot was last activated by them. If it is, it just re-activates, you don't even get a warning. |

I've just reloaded CoPilot onto a new PDA (had to send mine back for a replacement).
I thought that i would have to explain this to ALK when i re-activated it, but i didn't - it just prompted for my email address and activated ok. |

I know many of us get frustrated with ALK with vaying frequency, but they do seem to have a repution for being reasonable regarding re-activation, unlike some others who seem to require absolute proof of entitlement before they will even consider it.
I have even heard of a case where one user had two replacement PDAs in quick sucession, only to be told that they had run out of changes as defined in the terms and conditions - so tough luck - buy another licence! |

That's interesting. I taught you need to deactivate it before installing it on a new PDA? |
