Oh well. I know people think Lidl and Aldi are some sort of low life supermarket. However, if you choose carefully, you can find some very high quality German ham and sausages (and even some of the wine) and a few other good stuff. With a similar packaging, you pay double in price in any other supermarket. If you try some PURE juice e.g. red grapes (not juice drink, which mix with water), I can't taste the difference between a supermarket or high street brand. Ask your dad to give you the 200 GBP saving if that makes him feel better. |
My Dad agrees Rich. In fact he highly recommends Aldi's Parmesan Cheese

Aldi has the most liberal policy in the UK!
3 Years Warranty,
If at any time in 3 Years since purchase you feel the item is not performing as expected or not up to your standard you can return it to ALDI for a full cash refund no quibble
No other retailer in the UK will offer this!
Regards

Is the ALDI PDA / GPS any good.. ?
I've looked at the past messages, but what is it really like ??
Any one got any pitcures ? of the PDA and the rest of the kit ??

I have had a quick play with it, and have only one complaint so far, which is that the battery lock gets opened when you remove the unit from the leather wallet. |

Hi
I am using TomTom on mine for the UK the ONLY reason being I like the 3D mode, and the Aldi software does not have that,
Other than that the Aldi software is as good as TomTom and the maps are a little more uptodate than in TomTom2,
I will be using the Aldi Software for European travel tho. I am trying to find someone who purchased one of the Aldi packs in France and Germany, to trade software with them

Is there a demo version of TomTom ?
I don't mind buying software, but I like to try it first..
Most of the software I own, I get from newsgroups (warez),
If i like it, then buy the full proper versions. :D
If not I delete it 8O |

Hi Roy
Thanks for that,
I had a look, I will be buying a few of them, The CDs supplied by Aldi are good for cross country navigation in Europe, But I need street level in a few countries,
I like the way with the Aldi software you can edit maps on the PC and save specific corridor routes to the PDA, very impressive

the detailed street level map covers the republic of ireland too! My mate is very impressed!!
Another good thing about that aldi software is that there is a bar on the left hand side, so that you can visually see how far you need to go before the next turn. To me, it is useful, as 200 yard does not mean anything to me. With the bar, I can see how near I need to turn. But then, with GPS, it does not matter anymore if I miss a turn!!! _________________ Regards,

Dave, how do you possibly know all these things? Were you an FBI agent in your previous job? |
