hi there
just thought i would let you know about my little experience over the week end, downloaded the data base for co pilot 6(and had my pc expert load it for me) so we went for a test drive, great it picked up the first cam in putney, but it doesnt clear the screen, you have 2 do this manually, so i phoned ALK SUPPORT and now i have 2 do a complete reset as they have no patch yet for the downloads and you can only do single file downloads , i am now the proud owner of a 2 page e mail which i have no idea what i am meant 2 do, so again i have 2 fork out money 2 have my p.c guy come over on saturday and reinstall for me.SO BEWARE ALL CO PILOT 6 OWNERS, dont download until the patch comes out, when is that you say well the answer was SOON VERY SOON, ANYONEW WANT 2 BUY CO PILOT 6 MORE TROUBLE THAN ITS WORTH.............. |

so where is your problem?
a quick tap on the screen "OK" button and it has gone. it certainly ensures that you have acknowledged the alert! |

It is possible that your problem is not due to the screen not clearing, but due to another camera being encountered in less than 30 seconds (the rather excessive default time for the warning to be displayed). There are instructions somewhere in the forum on how to reduce the time to a more sensible value (and which pograms to use and not to use to edit the file). Perhaps someone could provide a link.
I do sympathise with you - the M42 around the NEC is an example of a place where the warnings come fast and furious too. |

The post Neil01 is referring to is
http://www.pocketgpsworld.com/modules.php?name=Forums&file=viewtopic&t=37924 please read all of the postings before doing it, especially the items about what progaramme to use when opening the .cfg file. It does work and you can arrange for the screen to clear in as short as time as you want. This may be addressed in the long-awaited patch rumoured to be out this week |
