Hi all,

I was driving up the M74 towards Glasgow last week and my i3 was continually alerting me to Speed Cameras. Now .... I'm very grateful (!), but there wasn't a Speed Camera in sight! Most of the the 'alert locations' seemed to be under bridges, but not all of them - there didn't seem to be any common denominator.

I also travelled a considerable distance along the A1 and M8, but didn't have this problem. Obviously, there must be a reason for these alerts and I wonder if someone could enlighten me Smile

I don't suppose I can turn these alerts off without disabling alerts for 'real' cameras, can I?

Thanks,

Nicola

what you were probably getting was 'temporary' camera sites which arnt always there...made you slow down though didnt it!....you can reload the camera poi's but delete the 'temp' if you dont want them....

Slow down?! I was driving my old Astravan and rattling along at around 75, which is as fast as I can go without it falling to pieces Smile But yes, eventually to escape the bonging in my ears, I slowed to 69.

Thanks for the quick reply. Will do as you suggest.

Nicola.

Which are Mobile cameras as they are often located ON bridges on motorways.

It should say at the top of the screen something like

Mobile:3434@70

or

Temp:1212@40

The first part tells you the type, the number tells you it's database ID and the @70 is the trigger speed.

Hmmm... it stated something like "Speed Alert 70mph limit ahead." I don't recall mention of anything else, but I did only glance.

Most of the traffic was going a heck of a lot faster than I was. If there were cameras, they must have had a field day! I thought cameras were meant to be visible?

They are(ish)....

Mobile camera sites are not always there. Sometime a van or a patrol car stops there with a speed gun to catch you. You never know whern they'll be there.

I believe that's the early warning you get. As you appraoch the camera it should give the more detailed warning.
