|
|
I am off to the above countries over the summer :D and we will be hiring cars in each. Was thinking about taking the i3 with me, but having had a search through the site the options all seem rather expensive (i.e card pre loaded with a countrys maps-£90)
We will be doing a lot of driving in canada (not so much in the other countries), so the sat nav would be quite handy, however looking at the prices of metro guide, city select, city navigator and the pre loaded cards it seems it would be cheaper to buy a another unit over there with the maps included!
Is there a more economic solution, or will it be map reading for me?
Cheers in advance. |

for europe you could try city select europe with a new micro sd card..should cost about £140 for the maps and £20 for the card...someone on this forum got the canada maps ,do a search for the thread....note that metroguides do not navigate or autoroute but will give you a 'where you are' position ...preloaded cards cost about £70 each i think... _________________ *************************** |

Zogman - I think that they are £90 not £70 so your option of multiple countries for £140 + £20 looks like the best deal if you are visiting morew than one country. Makes life so much easier driving abroad so worth every penny though! |

You'll find the thread about Canada Maps here:

MetroGuide Canada unlike most of the MetroGuides does navigate/autoroute and voice prompt. I got mine from Expansys for around £70. I could have saved some money if I had been prepared to wait till I got to Canada to buy it, but I wanted to install it so I could plan ahead using Favourites. I didn't regret doing that.
