Hello All, new to this forum lark so stick with me if I get it wrong.

I currently run an ipaq h5550 with TTN5 BT. The thing is big and bulky, takes ages for a sat fix, and means I have to carry more than 1 item around. The other bug bear is that it's not good for walking!

So, I am looking for an all in one package and have been considering the A701. Can anyone tell me if they are any good? Also, if I do get an A701, should I stick with TTN5 or change for something that would allow the TTN5 benefits and be more practical for walking?

any info is greatly appreciated.

Hello
I have only played about with one for a few minutes and i would say if you are used to having a large phone you will be fine. The unit looks ok but is slightly too big for my tastes. The built in GPS seemed to work fine when i was in the warehouse testing it. I am not sure if it has the same issue with tomtom as most of the new MIO's have ie the device code changing constantly. I would recommend that you try and get a hold of one before you buy to see what you think.

Thanks for the advice, what sat nav software are you using and do you think it will sit and work nicely in a tank bag?

I tried using satnav on in the tank bag and did not like tbh, found myself trying to glance down at it when i really wanted to be watching ahead. It was just a GPS testing tool that i used but i think that one of my ex colleagues got tomtom 5 working, not 100% on that.
