I've just installed a RIDER on my ST1100P, I haven't got around to installing a 12v feed but for those that are interested I've used one of the bracket's supplied albeit reversed to install it on the instrument surround.

Great shots, Darren. The rider really looks like a good fit there. |

The only problem is the BT headset. It's poorly designed with not enough cable and too thin. It's inaudible above 50mph and it won't be long before i snag it and it breaks. _________________ Darren Griffin |

How much cable do they give you?
How thin is the wire? |

The headset speaker is velcro backed and has about 4" of cable between it and the microphone which in turn has 1" of cable before the 2.5mm jack.
This isn't really enough to allow sensible placing of the Microphone as if you have the mic at the front it means the jack plug has to exit the helmet at the front!
There is then an extension that connects this to the BT receiver.
The cable is very thin, such as you would find in cheap earphones. _________________ Darren Griffin |

That's the problem, there isn't enough cable to make a loop as I would like it. _________________ Darren Griffin |

That's a neat enough installation Darren.
I've done something similar on my Wing, except that I've screwed my bracket underneath the lip of the dash, rather than on top. |

Hi ya how good are you with a soldering iron ??
First get an old pear old headphones cut the wire to suite
Next bear the wire and use a multi meter check which wires go which pole on the connector make a note
Next the bear the wire on the TT headphones DON’T cut Yet, use a multi meter check which wires go which pole on the connector make a note
Next cut at a angel so that the 2 wires are off set (there will be a earth for each one) 1 long 1 short
Next from your notes do the same to the other wires BUT opposite
Next put 1 large peace of shrink wrap over the long peace of wire then the 4 smaller peaces solder all 8 wires heat the 4 smaller peaces shrink wrap, pull over them the large peace and heat it to cover your work
Things you’ll is 2 lots off heat shrink wrap from Maplins for the inner and outer wires

I'm ok with a soldering iron so I'm going to go one better and modify the speakers and boom mic from my old job lid to work. The only issue is the impedance of the mic and helmet speakers, but as they're gathering dust I've nowt to lose _________________ Darren Griffin |
