- connect GO to computer
- copy map folder to a backup location on the PC
- copy voices that you need to a backup location
- format the GO drive with FAT32
- install the 5.420 software (from the TomTom site)
- copy voices back
- copy map back
- disconnect the GO, start it up, and re-activate the map (if it's not automatic)
Please be aware that there is a flash disk in the GO that you cannot access normally, it holds some of the settings. Means - you can't completely format a GO. _________________ Lutz

Hi Lutz, could this be where I have been going wrong and getting the problems with my upgrade to 5.44??
When I format the Go, I do the following:
Connect GO to computer
Format the GO drive with FAT32
Copy ALL of the files and Folders from my ORIGINAL back-up back onto the GO!
Is it best to do as you suggested:
Format the Go
Install 5.440 from TomTom site
Then copy only the Map Folder and Voice file (which one is this?) from my ORIGINAL BACK-UP back to the Go?
I'm assuming from your way that the TomTom installation gives you all the other files and folders you need??
