Ok first post on here, great helpful forum, and the i3 is a fantastic product for the money.
anyway 2.90 firmware loaded on fine (but slowly), however having driven rond with it today it seems to take much longer to calculate or recalculate the route than with 2.70. Also it occasionally shows the route on a road paralell to the one i am on. Has anyone else noticed this?
Other than that is seems better other than liking the word 'ramp'. I also noticed the multi language thing, seems odd to have Cymru and Wales when the unit is set to English.[/quote] |

Quote: | Were you using the beta before 2.90?
Or are you comparing it to 2.70? |
Compared to the 2.70 - downloaded but didn't install the Beta. |

Updated to 2.90 earlier today, and had a test drive now. Had some problems, the screen freezes occasionally for some seconds and it seems that it takes longer time to update the map when driving. The screen also went blank for several minutes when I stopped the navigation mode and chose "view map" instead. Back to 2.70 for me.. |

Upgraded to 2.90 and initially all seemed fine until the i3 suffered from the occasional blank screen when on "view map" mode (lasted circa 10 seconds) and happened at least 5 times that I noticed, once back in navigation mode all was fine. Anyone else experienced the blank screen in "View map" mode? |

yep | Blank screen once or twice and incredible slow screen updates. Can be driving along and look at i3 and find it is about 300 feet behind me. Seems a bit strange, do you Think Garmin will address this or should I just move back to 2.7? |

I'm getting the feeling 2.9 has more bad points than good :S |

Suggest you e-mail Garmin's Tech Support. If enough of us report the problems they may post 2.70 back on the update page until they work on a fix. I didn't experience the blank screen or delayed map update with beta 2.82 so something seems to have happened with 2.90 |

I'm getting the feeling 2.9 has more bad points than good :S | Fixed that by doing a Hard Reset and then retrying... Seems odd though. |
