|
|
DPN is able to sort POI's in alphabetic and distance order.
But in this version DPN is not able to sort favourites by distance.
I have written a little tool (running on the PDA) that sorts the favourites by distance.
In the german version this tool is running since august last year.
I am not able to read the current position from DPN (while DPN runs).
Therefore i have choosen following way:
I create within DPN the current position by storing it in the favourit "My favorites".
Installation of the program:
Copy the file on the PDA and start it.
Requirements:
- .NET Compact framework must be installed
(for Pocket PC 2003 it is already installed by default)
Procedure:
- select the favourite which should be sorted by distance
- then choose the reference position (by default stored in "My favorites")
- select the radius (default 60Km)
- click on start button
- now the program reads the choosen favourite and calculates the distance of every object in this favourite to the choosen reference position
and write the objects with distance in a new favourite.
The new favourite has the same name but with the prefix #.
Creating the reference position within DPN:
- on the map within DPN choose a reference position by tipping on that position
- in the context menue select favorite
- store the reference positon in "My favorites" with any name (example name: "John Public")
The folder name of the DPN favourites and the name of the favourit in which the reference position is stored (default: "My favorites") are stored in a file called FavoritenPfad.ini.
This file will be created in the root directory after first start of the program.
The file is a text file and can be edited to change the data but it is easier to change it in the program itself under the menue item "options".
Example for an objectname:
Original (before): John Public
Output with distance (afterwards): 023Km-John Public
You can download the program at following adress:

the english version is called "Favorite_sorter_v1.1e.zip" |

I tried on Win CE and it works just fine. But the buttons aren´t visible.
Who's the author of the program? Can i get the source code...? I could make the adjustments... Or if the author could just that...
Thank's |

Tried to get this to work on Destinator 6 but must be doing it wrong as I cannot get the places to show in the box. Installed in Favorites and it does open but only to show pick a favourite where there is nothing. Anyone help perhaps something else is needed to let it work in Des6 _________________ Acer N35
