I am pleased to hear that :D Mine is being flashed on Monday, and I've got the official TomTom GPS so fingers crossed.

I will also report back later in the week after testing it out. Wink

Does anyone know how I can get my phone flashed without proof of purchase?

I bought an N70 of ebay brand new the other day, its on orange and firmware 2.0537.1.7 and tomtom is a no go with my solar gps receiver.

I have a Nokia centre right near me (cribbs, Bristol) but are they going to need a receipt?

Not got it back yet. Should be here within the next couple of days. Then I will test it for a few days so should be able to report back by the end of the week.

Proof of purchase? What? Just take your phone to a Nokia service centre, tell them you're having problems and they do it for nothing. If they charge you're being ripped off.

I took mine into carphone warehouse (scary) today to get it sent off for the firmware upgrade and they wouldn't take it without proof of purchase so I will have to go back again, total pain in the ass

You don't need proof of purchase. What you need is your Club Nokia membership number from when you registered the phone.

interesting, the annoying thing was that I called the caterbury branch and they said I didn't need any proof of purchase and can take it in to any branch, then the local branch said they do, and considering the phone hasn;'t been out for a year they know it is still under warrenty, !!!

I only had to give my CLub Nokia number to the independent phone place that flashed my phone. Well actually the flash failed and it was sent to Nokia.

When it returned it had v3 firmware even though v5 was out at the time. And v3 has not fixed all the problems. Only today the phone reset itself when I put it in the car kit... nothing to do with TT Mobile because only the phone application was running.

Right, here we go Smile
Just got my phone back and it is now on v5.0609.2.0.1

So I now have
-the latest firmware that supposedly fixes the BT issues
-the original TomTom GPS receiver
-a high level of expectation Laughing

I will test out over the coming few days and post back the results here.

I certainly ain't what you would call religious by any stretch of the imagination, but can I request a large collective prayer to be said throughout our fair land Rolling Eyes and may the phone be with me

I'm using a Nokia N70 and tomtom mobile 5.0 and its working perfectly, I dont have the problems you mention. I've been using it for weeks on massive journeys.

Firmware: V 2.0539.1.2
19-10-05
RM-84

I use a 32 channel reciever as well, don't know if this could be the solution as I cant see this mentioned earlier.

contracts - good luck my friend!.. look forward to hearing from you. My N70 usually crashes after being warned of about 6-10 speed camera's Sad I live near Birmingham airport, and the A45 has way too many of them!

newso - are you running any PIO's?

I'm using the speed camera POI's from this site, they are displayed on the screen and also warned at 300 yards, but no others displayed/warned.
