I am trying to subscribe via paypal but get the message "This recipient is currently unable to receive money"
Is this a problem at my end or yours please?

Apologies, the problem is at our end. PayPal are unable to sort it out until tomorrow as the people in the know are off for the weekend.
Nochex is a good alternative, you don't have to sign up to it - it's just a standard credit card processor.

I have now used NoChex instead - may be just me but Nochex used to be much more complicated than it is now - you needed an account and had to remember which card you registered to it every time - I kept forgeting and used Paypal instead.
This was much easier.
