I have a Tomtom Go 500.
I have the speed camera database installed and all was working perfectly, but, I've stumbled upon a little problem and I wondered if anyone else has the same thing happening on their Tomtom.
Okay, the default distance warning for mobile talivans is 274 yards if my memory serves me correctly. I found that this was not enough as in a Dual carriageway situation, they could have zapped you around the time your warning chimes. So, I changed my distance warning for talivans to 500 yards.
Now, when I'm approaching a talivan and the warning sounds, when I glance at my Tomtom, it says 30 yards, then 25 yards, then 400 yards, then counts down from there. Why does it not simply start at 500 yards and count down from there? it is confusing.
Now, when I just checked my distance, although I typed into the Tomtom 500 yards, for some reason it defaults to 499 yards.
Anyone know a fix for this?
Oh, I have 5.420 OS installed and I also have Capture POI software installed too.
I have just done a demo run on my tomtom to have a look and what you are seeing is 0.30 miles down to 0.25 miles then it changes in to yards starting at 400 and then down from there.
As far as i know there is no way of changing this.
