you might find that tt3 is way to old for wm5 , as it was ment for the older versions not wm5 .,i'm sure someone will correct me if i'm wrong though _________________ TomTom 5001 |

ok thanks....i hope this is not the case!
I have more information regarding my problem that i feel is relevant and may help solve this issue......
I have copied the maps accross to the new memory card, and tried to install TT3, but with no luck.
This is what hapens......
Start the auto run Tom Tom CD
prepares set up
agree to licence agreement, and continue
select Install TT Navigator option
and then click next....then the error message pops up:
"Tom Tom setup application has encounters a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvience".....the the usual two buttons: Send Error Report or Dont send.
My life has changed since having TT, and it is hell without it |

Try this (confirmed on a Qtek 9000 running WM5):
Get the latest update from the TomTom website for TomTom Navigator. This will be TomTom Navigator 5.2xx
http://www.tomtom.com/updates/navupd521.exe
Now. Save that file somewhere.
Make sure your TomTom Navigator 3 cd is IN your PC, or this won't go anywhere.
Find the 5.2xx update file and run it. Instead of installing Navigator 5, it will run the TomTom Navigator 3 cd and will then let you install Navigator 3 onto your new device.
There are other ways to do this (cab file installations, for example), but this is the fastest way. Also, a caveat. Navigator 3 is _not_ programmed for WM5, and will probably display odd behaviour.
TomTom will not help you troubleshoot. To be fair to TomTom, their Navigator 3 software really wasn't made for WM5, so you can't expect them to solve issues in software running on a platform it's not meant to be running on, kinda like running Windows on a Mac or OSX on a standard Dell PC. :-)
Good luck! |

Many thanks for youre help.....i have tried what you have suggested but unfortunatly it didnt work......
I Saved the update and run it....made sure my TT3 CD was in the drive, but it didnt run the cd.
Insted it installed what i think is TT5 onto my pocket PC.
So I went trough the installation process on the pocket pc and now it says thatthat it cant see any maps....
where do i go from here? is there somewhere i can get the right maps from? or is there a way i can get this version of Tom Tom to see my maps?
Thanks for all your help so far....im sure you can get me through this troublesome period of my life |

tt3 will not work on a wm5 machine so you'll either have to change to another supplier ie copilot navigon etc or update to tt5 to get the map you'll have to get a uk map on sd try either easy devices if you a subcriber there should be a discount or total pda the map on sd will be around 80 pounds or you'll have to go back to the 2i
there was an upgrade to tt5 that ran from the launch of tt5 until november last year _________________ currently using aponia truck navigation on windows phone. Good bye IOS don't let the door hit you on the way out .
Oh the joys of being a courier.

Once you have the map, you should have no further issues. _________________ -------------------------------------------------------
