We have just finished beta testing our new Navplate website and would welcome your constructive comments and suggestions please.
The site allows you to create a unique Navplate Splash Screen for your portable TomTom Satellite Navigation System and take a step towards reducing crime.

It's easy enough to make these without the ADVERTS.
All you have to do is put the reg number on your already customised logo.
Plenty enough programs to use. |

Come in DelBoy, don't you agree you've missed the point here?
The UK Home Office spend Millions of your Tax pounds on promoting property marking of devices such as TomTom's etc.
The idea is OK and I guess we all use conveience solutions from time to time, as not everyone can create images so easy as you!
I enjoyed using the site, so there's your feedback!
nice one! |

So, what's stopping the thief from replacing the splash screen with one of his own ?
You'd be better off using Smartwater. At least that is difficult to remove. |

The Navplate splash screen is not permanent and with a pc and cable can be replaced.
The splash screen is a visual deterrent only.
The police recover a large amount of stolen tom-toms that are not security marked and are often hampered by their inability to identify the lawful owner of the property.
why not use smartwater as well anything is better than nothing?

Would anyone who has downloaded the free sponsored Navplate or purchased the customised version please like to leave some feedback on the experience good or bad?
Thanks

Or European plates? Also there's no option to select GO Classic, just 300, 500, etc |

The splash screen format is the same across all the pre v10 devices. _________________ Darren Griffin |

Simon | I downloaded the free version - very good, even the advert was OK, as it was for Crimestoppers
Website was very easy to use, trouble was I kept on trying to hunt for the catch (the bit where they forward you email address etc) but couldn't find one. So perhaps that needs to be highlighted more than it is? |

Hello Mossman,
Thank you for finding the time to leave some positive feedback on the Navplate website,
I am very happy that you enjoyed your no catch free Crimestoppers Navplate.
We don’t sell on any of your details on to third party's just send you an informative GPS newsletter.
Maybe we can interest you into coming back and purchasing your own custom made Navplate in the future?
Many thanks
Simon

Created a "Navplate" but didn’t go so far as to download. You may want to know the site works fine with Firefox browser. Very easy to use for challenged peeps. Just one point, since you are actively seeking opinions and perhaps buisiness on PGPSW, couldn't you at least list this forum in the drop down box "where did you hear about" out of courtesy? |

The police recover a large amount of stolen tom-toms that are not security marked and are often hampered by their inability to identify the lawful owner of the property.
All you need is a very sharp nail and then you etch your postcode and house number into the base: TT1 1TT/21. Now it is marked for life with your addrtess on it. When the police recover it it's an easy matter to return it to you.
There's not an item in my house that isn't marked with my postcode . . . and everyone else in my Neighbourhood Watch Scheme are the same.

That's a fair comment, we're verging on advertising here so some mention on your site might at least be courteous? _________________ Darren Griffin |
