Hi

I need help trying to use my:

TomTom 5 Navigation Software
Running on an IPAQ RX3715
Using UK Maps

with

A Polstar Bluetooth GPS reciever (Model number PBT-111), recently bought on eBay

Here is a summary of points so far

Previously the TomTom worked fine with my official TomTom wired reciver, bought as part of a package in Feb 2005 with Tom Tom 3

Having upgraded to Tom Tom 5 earlier last year I wanted to get a wireless solution, so I bought the Polstar on eBay.

Now it works ok in the PDA Tester utility I downloaded - establishes a Bluetooth connection and shows a good GPS signal. It lists the connection port as "COM6G...." (the dots indicate where I cant see what the full name is due to the size limitation in the box it is displayed in)

The problem starts in the TomTom5 software. I go to GPS status, select "other bluetooth GPS" and then it comes up with a list of options - nonbe of which are COM6. I have tried each of the available options without success.

So I am stuck - can anyone please help??

In the Bluetooth settings on the PDA make sure the outgoing COM port is set and enabmed properly.

Can you post the list of choices you are getting? (Hint - tap and hold each entry to show it completely)

Cheers Pal, your "Tap and Hold" theory sorted me out. Having done that on the second option down (which was Com 6, but you couldnt see that on a normal screen) I established a connection and got it working

Thanks
