I have just purchased TT5 for my Palm T3 and I'm at a loss. Apart from the fact that the GPS device will not seem to find any satellites, I have no idea how to install POI's (in particular the speed camera database) onto the device, somebody please give me an idiot's guide...
Kind regards,
Darren |

Perfect, guess it helps if you know what you're looking for!
Any tips on "helping" the GPS unit fins some sats? it's currently sitting on a window sill...? |

The first fix can take upwards of 30mins but you'd be better leaving it outside with a clear sky view. _________________ Darren Griffin |

It's had an hour and a half guess it must need a better view, can't really leave it out at the moment though. will it turn itself off if it can't detect the PDA? |

In which case yes, it will power off if it loses connection with the PDA.
That's normally a very sensitive GPS though. Charge it up tonight and try tomorrow, the better the sky view the quicker it will lock and update ephemeris and almanac data. _________________ Darren Griffin |

Will do, frustrating that I can't get it working tonight though, and equally frustrating that it only comes with a car charger!!
Would it make a difference that my T3 keeps turning itself off (Timeout)? Surely as long as the GPS unit is still on it wouldn't need the T3 to locate...? |

The BT Unit will switch off after a few minutes if the T3 powers off as a battery save measure.
Try tomorrow, go for a drive, stop somewhere with a clear sky view and have the GPS on the dash and it'll be fine then. _________________ Darren Griffin |

Took the thing outside to charge it in the car, as soon as I stepped outside it fixed a signal!! Oh the irony, cos now my T3's battery is dead!! |
