Hi speedy_ste,
Have you read the guides that I gave you a link to, here?
The guides give a link to the download area for the database.

I think I had the same problem and it was because the download icon for the zip didn't appear in Firefox. When I switched to IE all was well. |

I have just had the same problem with Firefox even though Java was enabled. IE enabled me to save the selected file to my desktop.
My only problem now is to work out which zipped file I should use for my garmin i3:-
uk-POILoader or
UK-Speed Zoned Complete (23 files)
no doubt the info is hidden within this site somewhere because the options mentioned on the download page are:- Speed zoned, Single file, and Consolidated by type. What does the uk-POILoader do and should that be the one to use ?
confused. |

The POI-Loader File contains 5 Speed Camera Files by Camera Type. _________________ Richard

Thanks Richard, I will have a go at installing that file on to my my Garmin i3. I assume the other available download containing 23 files will not load ? |

Hi All, sorry my first post!
Having installed the ov & bmp files from the 'complete set' of the database on my Go700 I then looked at adding the voices but half way through doing so the numbers don't add up! there are more warnings than voices - what am I doing wrong please experts.....am I back to square one - use the standard beeps and bops?
TomTom Go 700 v 5.420
Many thanks |

Not quite. There are only 15 Warnings in the standard data.chk File. In the Speed Zoned Set of Cameras there are 23 sets of POI.
There is a way to extend the number of warnings you can have, To do the you have to goto http://www.tomtomsatnav.info/poiw.html
This will explain what you need to do to get the Extended Warnings. _________________ Richard

Thanks Oldboy,
Not sure I quite understand what it means but I'll try and get my head round it. Should I be useing another set of files from the pocketgps dbase dowload that is more compatible?
Regards, Paul. |

I don't use the Specs Speed Zoned, which gives me 18 Files. That allows me to fit everything with a Warning. The tba, var, @70 and @20 use the same Basic Gatso Warning. Also the similar 3 (no var), in the Mobile Set. _________________ Richard

You can get the individual .OGG files from http://www.pocketgpsworld.com/tomtom-poi-alerts.php they are downloadable by clicking the hyperlinked text next to the description showing which name does which warning etc. Note you don't load .OGG files into TomTom as such you need to build them up into a file known as data.chk, have a read of the link above and see if this answers your question - Mike |
