Hi folks.
I'm a complete newbie to this so go easy....
I have just bought the Mio A201 & need info with regard to Nav 5, will it be "plug & play" with a preloaded SD card (UK map) ?
I will be travelling to California in May, what do suggest to use over there ?
How big a job is it to load the software onto the SD card from discs & get it up & running ?
Any comments welcome.
Regards
Gran. |

there appears to be an incompatibility issue with TT5 and the A201 which means the device code for the PDA changes which caused problems when registering tomtom.
you may want to consider this before you spend any money. |

TomTom are explicitly stating they DO NOT support the A201 at this time. _________________ Darren Griffin |

i cant comment on the Miomap im afraid since ive never used it.
you can get TT to work on your A201 but it can be a bit tricky and you can lose your activation code if it doesnt work right. |

On Ebay a guy is selling a pdf install guide for about £2.50 so yes it can be installed, I am going to contact the people I bought it off to see if they offer any service.
I have been offered "Go/Co Pilot" which is supposed to work OK on the A201, any good if I get no joy with TT5 ?
Cheers

For US maps, use Mapopolis. _________________ Lutz

Hi darren
Its probably Copilot, it was a bad line. The guy I bought the pda off is going to put TT5.21 on tomorrow & he assures me it will work OK.
thanks for the replies,I'll update you when I know the outcome.

Had TT5 UK maps put on today & it appears to work OK, no special tricks, he stuck the card in & activated it online.
fingers crossed...
