how to find that activation code

hi i have upgraded the software on my friends tt500 and now it has ask to activate the map,but he cant find the code any were,hes been on to tomtom but becouse he bought it second hand they dont want to know or help,gave the option to buy a new map...now would the activation code be some were in a file on the sd card,i feel a bit guilty and would like to help

The activation code comes from ttcode.com - what he/she needs is the product code which is printed on the card that came with the device. Ask the seller for that card.

If all else fails - buy the map again.

hi thanks for your reply, he did ask the seller and he said the same,it was on the back of the cd,but he found the cd as it was in a wallet but had discarded the original paper wallet long ago,
