I think it's gone again Paul-m. If you click on Patches at the right it just redirects you back to the page you are on _________________ nick

There is some problem with the web page.
The page is dynaically created and for some reason it isnt always consistent.
I cleared my IE cache and after some attempts got the page again.
keep trying is the best i can suggest. _________________ Wife 3 kids.... unversity fees...:-(

You have to keep hitting refresh every time the site tells you that a page cannot be found. Eventually you get something.
Question - my current install is straight from the memory card that came with the package. The upgrade instructions say to uninstall first - does this still apply? Also, do I select the memory card as the destination of the patch install? |

The note on the ALK download page says that the patch:
Adds ability to switch from the CoPilot Keyboard to one of the Pocket PC system keyboards
Fixes Bug that does not allow you to change Speech
Fixes bug that does not play "Welcome to Copilot" when opening Copilot
Fixes bug that uses Product Keys from data download from previous versions of Copilot.

The following works fine:
Uninstall the old version of CP 6.
So that you have backup copies in case of problems, place a copy each of the the new and existing CAB files in suitably named separate directories on the desktop computer hard disk.
Copy the new CAB file to the 2577 directory on the PPC (say “yes” to over-write the old one).
Double tap the new CAB file to start the new installation.
The above replaces the old version with the new without having to go through licensing again. _________________ Dell Axims X50v & X30 (both WM 2003 2nd Edition). I had better hasten to add that it's the installation thate works fine, not necessarily the new version. The first thing I've noticed is that it still doesn't say "Welcome to Copilot". Actually, I don't mind about that one bit, but it was one of the items that was supposed to be fixed.
As I said before, make sure you keep your old CAB file handy...
As for a comprehensive patch... ...? Or is that it? _________________ Dell Axims X50v & X30 (both WM 2003 2nd Edition). Copilot BTGPS3 and Fortuna Clip-on BT receivers. Jabra BT 250 audio headsets. First thing I've noticed is that renaming Custom POI's on the Desktop app from Custom 1, Custom2, etc, to meaningful names for my own Imported POIs, still doesn't work!!
I can rename them and it reallocates to the new names, but exit CoPilot and restart and I'm back to Custom 1, Custom 2 etc.
HoHum back to the drawing board again ALK.
At least I can choose which keyboard I want though
That's as far as I've got with the update so far. |

I thought that, but not for long. Try exiting CP 6.0.1.22 and then entering Pocket Excel, for example. Then see if you can get the keyboard (or other input method) of your choice.

It seems to me that the question is how long have they actually spent there - since CP 4 or thereabouts? _________________ Dell Axims X50v & X30 (both WM 2003 2nd Edition).
