Thanks for all the help :P went and got it from Halfords, £10 cheaper.....will have to see what the difference between V7 maps and V8 maps is, only drove down the Acle Straight so far though, very happy. |

Incorrect.
v2.70 refers to the FIRMWARE version of the unit. It is totally unrelated to the MAPPING version onboard.
To see the firmware version - go to Settings - About (at bottom of list).
To see the map version - go to Settings - Map - Map Source.

1. Yes, it,s v7.
2. v7 to v8
I've followed the link above. I'll be phoning Garmin.
There might not be a great deal of difference but Garmin don't strike me as a company that gives a lot away, so I'll get it where I can.

So why are the Europe DVDs only available in the USA?
And why can we only buy over-priced TransFlash pre-loads of pityfully limited European maps?And why are the units made in Taiwan (and carry a California health warning regarding the manufacturing processes used)?
Must I continue?
