should i go directly to garmin's website and do all the updates or should i just do the latest update? i'll be getting the item in like 4 days and am really excited. Just wanted your opinion. Evetually ill write up a review to let you guys know how it works in the chicagoland area. _________________ ~its whats inside

As far as I am aware it only ever seems to be the latest one that is available so you don't really have a choice. |

thanks for the response. i saw that on their website after i made the post. Is there anything else I should do with it though? I wish I had it already. I decided on this one instead of wanting the magellan 800 for 8 months. Does it come with a pouch to put it away in or is that extra? _________________ ~its whats inside

my 300 came with a nice little pouch nice touch garmin this is the only sat nav on the market that you dont want to or have to leave in th car to get stolen like the over weight tomtoms which dont even have sirf3 or a pouch well you can get the tt hand bag nice choice let us know when you get it........ |

i dont think anyone would steal it out of my car, but then again you never know. I was thinking of putting it in my glove compartment and locking that. Would that be okay from time to time? _________________ ~its whats inside

glove box would be the first place any car theif would look. especially if they see that it's locked - it's gonna be locked for a reason, right? 2nd place is under the car seats!
it's small enough to fit ina pocket - it'll even fit in a shirt pocket.
