Can anyone tell me if there are v8 maps available for the C320. It says on garmins website that City Navigator Europe V8 is available ( but excluded C320 and C330)
Any advice appreciated |

I would Phone Garmin and see. Im getting V8 update for a C310.
C330 has all maps internaly so its hard to see how update works.
Would hope and think you can get maps for C320, phone Garmin and see. Update should be on a V8 update disk, thats available now isn't it.
May depend when you bought your c320 |

The 320 should work with the City navigator NT+ V8.02 disk. This is one of the key applications for the software. I have been running V8.02 mapping on my C310 for a few weeks now sourced from the DVD without problems. |

Actually thinking back the DVD may not work with the 320. The 310 has updated software that allows it to use postcode searching, whilst the 320 does not. Perhpas you have to wait until the 320 recieves its software update before you can use the V8 DVD, which only costs $75 |

Hi,
I telephoned Garmin on 1st March and was told that c320 is included and that DVD and unlock code is free if unit was purchased after 1st. January 2006. If purchased before this date DVD is free but unlock code will cost $75 approx. £40.
More information can be obtained from
http://www.garmin.com/cartography/mapSource/email/cityNavigatorEuropev8.html,
Hope this helps.

When you get the V7 software supplied with your C320 I understand that entitles you to 2 unlock codes.
When you pay $75 is that just for one code or 2? |

Just received below E mail from Garmin
Thank you for contacting Garmin Europe.
The release date of the City Navigator Europe Nt v.8 maps is March 31st
2006. I am not aware of any delays for this.
City Navigator Europe v.8 was released last week but this is different to
the mapping your unit uses.
I can confirm your email is with us. As soon as we get the DVD's they will
be posted.
Regards,
Andy Phillips

It seems there are two versions of City Navigator v8, don't know what Nt means but it seems this is the version for my c320. Just have to sit back and wait until March 31st.

Rang Garmin Europe after getting an "update available email" told them C320 etc had the v8 disk within 24hrs. Now me thinks someone speaks with forked tongue. Have emailed them cos if V8 doesn't work and I need NT version I don't want to be paying for the unlock. Thanks to Ericd for the v8 link in Garmin Streetpilot - 502 Beta. |

Oddjob
Read your post of today in topic re 5.02 beta and posted comment there.
Obviously you have not unlocked yet but as I say in other post it will be interesting what Garmin have to say to you. I shan,t contact them again until after March 31.
