Hi
I think 5.0 allowed 39 and I thought 5.21 would increase this, but I cant seem to load more? Does anyone know...
And heres my rant, im Tomtom through and through, had the classic, then the 700 and now on my k-jam but last week I bought the other half the £99 garmin i3 which is really the only sat nav she can use as there is no cigarette lighter in her car....anyway, last night we put on over 200 POI's with no problem and the amount of pre installed POI's is amazing, things like small local chemists and small indepandant cinemas
seems a lot more than TT
rant over :D
cheers

No the TomTom limit is still 39, I have read about creating new POI files to replace the inbuilt ones within TT but its not easy, and is close to the line in terms of legality, at best you can roll POI's into single files such as the speed camera database, the downside being a reduction in the functionality you can achieve within the program i.e. no speed related warnings when done this way. I don't know if there is a limit to the i3 but its a cracking bit of kit, mine has taken everything I have thrown at it in the last week, very impresive for the size and price - Mike |

This has been argued over on GPS Passion with mixed results. Version 5.4 for the Gos seem to back to 39. As for Navigator PPC 5.21 I read it was 27. On my iPaq I can load at most 31 before they don't appear. Go figure.
Any experts to ring in on this one? |

I have 62 POI CATEGORIES on my iPaq 2210 running TT5 and all appear with no problems whatsoever when I select 'Navigate to'---'Point of Interest'. _________________ Charlie Gregory

The limit applies to the POI's that you add into the device, there should be 43 inbuilt POI's that come with TomTom, you can add a further 39 sets of POI, after that you will encounter problems, such as they will not all appear in the configure POI menu's, they will be on the memory card, its just you can't do anything with them - Mike |

I want to keep beating this horse. This FAQ is posted on POI Handler:
I do not see all the categories in TomTom 5, TomTom G0 5.x?
TomTom has limited the number of catergories. In this versions it is only allowed a maximum of 27 additional categories. This was in previous versions a lot more.
However, version 5.4 is back up 39 it seems.
So far the "viewable" category count in Navigator PPC 5.21 is 27, 31, and 62 |

In TT5 there are a total of 63 inbuilt POI categories, 19 are hidden ( Dentist,Vet,Church,Embassy, to name just a few). Why TT don't make them widely available? |

I can't see anything on hidden POIs and how to access them on Ray's site. _________________ Peter

On 5.21 PPCI can see the "hidden" ones mentioned above fine. I can't see anymore than 32 user created custom POI categories. |
