|
|
Hi there,
Been running TT2.24 since it was released, using a Navman Sleeve on a 3870.
At some point last week it refused to get a GPS fix.
Did the usual reset and tried to restart Navigator.
It now gives:
Fatal Application Error
Application TotTom Navigator.exe has performed an illegal operation and will be shut down. etc. etc.
Program: TomTom Navigator.exe
Exception: 0x 0000005
Address: 00a5aaac.
I have tried removing and reinstalling and then addding the 2.24 patch, but without any success.
Is it worth removing it again, doing a backup, doing a hard reset, restoring form backup and then reinstalling?
Has anyone else seen this problem?
Thanks,
Matthew |

Two things can cause this fatal exception error.
1) too many POI's in your country directory on your storage card
2) corrupted file
1) Fix - Deleting some of your POI's can resolve this.
2) Fix - Uninstalling TomTom Navigator completely, deleting the TomTom Navigator directory and the country directory on the storage card, soft resetting and reinstalling should fix. |

I had the same fatal application error problem over the weekend with TTN2. I followed the link Mountain posted and deleted the .cfg file as suggested. The problem was cured when I attempted to restart TTN2.
The only downside is that all the favourites, recently visited addresses and so forth are lost, as well as any display personalisation settings, but it is a lot less hassle than doing a hard reset.
Hopefully TomTom will sort this out in a future update. _________________ If you can remain calm while everyone else is panicing, you have probably not understood the situation. |
