Hi, I've copyed my frence-map dir to my SD card with my GB-maps but tomtom cannot see the french map.
Now like a pl*nker I've left everything at home so I cannot check what else I need to do to get tt to see the map.
Can any one help me? |

Hi dreaddan
Oh dear! The way that your message read it sounds as though you are already in France. Anyway, I also have both the French and England maps on my card and everything works ok.
If I want to change maps I just go to ‘Change Preferences’ / ‘Switch Map’ and Bingo!
I go to France quite often and so don’t need Tomtom to get me to Dover and the last thing I do before leaving home is to switch TT5 on briefly and switch maps there and then, just to play safe. Are you in France? _________________ Tomtom Go 720.

Luckerly I'm still in the uk but at work.
I have tryed to go to 'Change Preferences’ / ‘Switch Map’ but it only comes up with the gb map.
It's possable it's not copyed correctly but I guess I'll have to pop home to pick up everything for a reinstall is in order. I guess it's something to do while sitting in the airport!

Hi dreaddan
After giving it a bit of thought I’m sure that the problem that you describe has been on this forum before. I can’t think what the answer was but as you are still in the UK I have no doubt that we will find it. _________________ Tomtom Go 720.

In regard to copying maps etc to SD card. I have an Acer and have found that if maps etc are copied to the card via a card reader and not activesync that it takes a soft reset to ensure the 'new' information is read by the PDA.
Try this before resorting to re-installs etc
Regards and have a safe trip :D |

Just wanted to say thanks for the posts.
I'm not 100% on why it didnt pick up the maps, reinstalled TT + 5.21 patch, recopyed the maps and it's all working now.
I'm alittle baffled but never mind.
Thanks
