Try (if you are not already) keeping the car still while they acquire the sats., and if the weather is anything like down here in Abergavenny (very snowy) then that could be another reason too (all my GPS systems SEEM to take longer in occluded skys) |

The most recent software upgrade 2.90 appears to have cured it for me. I get acquisition within less than a minute most days even when driving off before it has happened.
However I find now that it does not pick the route up immediately. I have to drive a couple of hundred meters with just a the map showing before it bursts into life and starts directing me! Perhaps the same problem coming out in a different way. |

Is it now waiting to find which direction we are pointing, rather than "second guessing" which is now it used to be done??? |

Could be. It seems to take some time to identify which direction I am going in though.
I still find that the nuvi does not like to be switched on in a multistorey car park where it can't find a signal. It seems to stop looking and then take an age when in the open air.
I might try parking up outside the car park and then switch it on and see if that makes a difference. |
