Given the impending roleout of this system and its capability to monitor speeds as well as its other uses, perhaps we should start thinking about logging these as well?

ANPR may be used for speed offences, but that is (very) secondary. Plus, they're not usually fixed sites, could be anywhere......you'd have proximity alerts going off all the time. Just make sure you have insurance/tax/MoT..........and not speeding, of course! :D

I would prefer regular ANPR sites to remain unlisted, as one of the beneficial uses is to track cars used by known villains.

In our area, the Police use ANPR-equipped vehicles as part of their anti-burglary campaigns, watching for vehicles with 'intelligence' on them.

At least, that's what the bobby who investigated my stolen number plates told me...
