I have an IPAQ 2210 running TT5. The Ipaq loses the Home and favourites randomly after a couple of days or even hours. The battery is not going flat and no other programs are affected only TT5. Has anybody else had this problem? If so please help |

Hi omaruk
I also have a Ipaq 2210 and have never lost a favourite or my home location. I see that Artisan says ‘this is a known bug’ but that makes it even more of a puzzle. After all, both you and I have TT5 and the same PDA but one of us has the problem and the other one does not. The TT5 programme is mass produced and each copy is (or should be) identical. So, what’s the cause? I’m as interested as you in finding the answer. _________________ Tomtom Go 720.

Me too! I have been using TT5 on my iPAQ 2210 since it first came out, and it has never happened to me. I always exit TomTom before switching off the PDA - perhaps this is something which happens if you switch off while TomTom is still running?

Have to join the "Me too" chorus. Have run TT3 and TT5 on my 2210 and have never suffered that problem (or any other, for that matter).
Which CF/SD card are you using? How full is it? Might give us all a clue.... _________________ Garmin 2360LT

I also have to add to the "me too" list I have had an Ipaq 2210 for the last 3 years upgraded to TT5 and have never lost favourites, home or anything else and have never had any problems with it in any respect.

Must admit, I used to have this problem with my 2210 as well. I couldn't figure out why on earth the favourites etc would all disappear occasionally.
What I did notice, is that where I exited TomTom, and clicked "Start", the volume setting was still very high (as it is in TomTom), suggesting that it was still running in the background. I then noticed that my favourites only vanished if I switched my 2210 off within seconds of exiting TomTom.
This suggested to me that TomTom was still running in the background, presumably writing data to my SD card.
So the secret I found was to (a) make sure I exited TomTom rather than just switching my PDA off, and (b) waiting for 5 seconds after exiting before actually switching the PDA off (or at least until I could press "start" and the volume would be back down low again). I never lost my favourites again.
Hope this helps. |

I tend to find that if I have a recurring problem that seems to have no definate reason (especialy with a PC) Unistall the whole program and reinstall. This very often solves the problem. In the case of a PDA & Tom Tom only do this if you have the knowledge. |

Thanks guys, yes very weird, my sister has exactly the same setup as me down to the same GPS unit and she does not have the problem but I do. I will try the bug fixes and then report back |

Apologies if this is resurrecting an old thread.
I also run TT5 on and Ipaq2210. Exactly the same thing happended to me last week. I powered up my PPC and ran TT5, went to navigate to a favourite, and they had all vanished.
I always shut down TT5 before switching off the PPC. It has never happended before, and have no idea why it did.
Very weird

I was about to post I had have TT5 on my HX4700 for 4 months without this lost favourite problem ever occurring.
And then this morning on my way to work, I hit a queue on the A40, fired up the PDA and TT5 to find a way round it, navigate to...favourites (well, I store my workplace as a 'favourite' as there is no 'frequently visited but unpleasant locations' category) and it is greyed out! Panicking I switch to map view of the route and now TT thinks I am in Scotland and not West London, so has forgotten 'home' location as well. What have I done differently to the previous 4 months - nothing. |

Hi everyone. I have a 2210 and tt5...no problems. However a friend of mine recently purchased a 1710. His favs, home etc would constantly change back to a place in Essex.
Turned out to be a copied sd card with ttmaps on it. _________________ What car in front???

I too would have been in the "Me Too" group but after 2 years I switched on my 2210 on Monday only to find Home and Favourite's gone. |
