|
|
Just replaced my trusty old TTN3 with TTN5 (v5.21) on my XDA2, but the sounds don't work properly.
Neither the voice directions nor the audible POI warnings will play properly. They break up when you try to play them. They seem to play slightly slowly with gaps in the words. I've tried updating both the voices and the POI sounds, bu tthe problem persists. Thought at first it might be the fact that the voices were on the sd card, when on TTN3 they were in main memory but the POI warning sounds are in main memory in TTN5 and they suffer the same problem.
Has anyone else had a similar issue? Anyone got any advice? Its unusable as it is....
Thanks in advance... |

Well I used the "default ones" that install with the product and just assumed they should work.....
I've since installed the same version onto my old iPAQ 3850 and that works fine! (with a much slower processor...)
I've also tried updating both the POI sound file and the voice file with other "updates" specifically designed for my v5.21.
I suppose I could try the POI sound files for other v5 versions of Navigator, as I see there are different versions of these, but assume all the voice files for V5 are compatible, whatever incremental upgrade of Navigator v5 is installed.... |

well, some voice files are more equal than others. This is mainly a question of the sound sampling rate. Although I would agree - the Pocket PC should be able to play anything sampled from 8 to 22 KHz _________________ Lutz
