This has been confirmed. I spoke to Garmin about 5 minutes ago who said the following:
'This is indeed the case and all you need to do is send off your v7 transflash card to the following address:
i2/i3 Update
Freepost Garmin'
Turn around is planned at 5 days but should be quicker.

Did you check to see if anyone who owns a v7 unit is eligible or only recently purchased ones? I forgot to ask |

I have V7 maps. I would be a bit dubious about putting my valuble transflash card in a freepost envelope.
I think I had better phone them to get a real address so I can send it to them by special delivery and at leas know it had arrived.

You can get one yourself when you phone them first week in March to arrange the swap. |

like i said MaFt ,i dont doubt you....but i gather that pocket gps world/tim buxton has an association with garmin ,wouldnt it be appropriate for garmin to 'officially' tell us all what/how to do the upgrade.....this would be a service for all the loyal v7 members on this site..... _________________ *************************** |

I don't have an association with Garmin, I'm afraid, though it's not for lack of trying.
I do use a GPS V, and Que software on my iPAQ, though, and had a GPS 3+ before the V. _________________ Tim |

Just phoned Garmin. I was told to post my memory card and details of my address to:
I3 Update
FREEPOST Garmin
Will use special delivery though. I asked who is eligible and the support guy said everyone with an I3. Go for it. |

I think you might have to add the full Garmin Europe address ie
i2/i3 Update
Freepost Garmin
Garmin (Europe) Ltd.
Unit 5, The Quadrangle
Abbey Park Industrial Estate
Romsey, Hampshire
SO51 9DL, UK
Also I was told to wait a couple of weeks before sending my card to them. I suppose they expect to be quite busy! |
