|
|
Hi there,
I have got a TT Go 300 and am planning going to Paris from the UK...
I have got an original TT GO 500 SD card, 256MB, (from EBAY) with no product code, I have looked on the maps and i can see a good few number of roads in Paris... however my question is... is this the full city map or just the major roads??
I have seen on the TT site you can download the PARIS city maps, however it states that these maps be the same as i already have...
If i was to download PARIS MAPS from TOM TOM site, Do you know if theres a differance with the maps from the Go 300 & Go 500 SD cards..
Because if i download/buy the maps from tom tom i can provide them with my GO 300 product code.. and then put them on my GO 500 SD card as well??
Alos does any one know how I can get me product code for the GO 500 SD card i have, as i said its Orginial i was just connec when i brought it with not understanding how the product codes work etc.. (the guy on EBAY said he wont refund it either??)
Any ideas??
Thanks |

The GB Plus Map only shows Major Roads in the rest of Europe.
The Paris City Map shows down to Street Level, with much more detail than the Major Roads.
The 300 does not have a Plus Map. I don't know how big the City Map is but would guess that you might be struggling to put it on with the other Maps. _________________ Richard

you will find your go product code by looking through your go setting to find show version where your product code should be displayed
you could then dowload a new french map and install it on your memory card when you download the map you will get an activation code
you may need to get a bigger memory card so the maps you have will also be usable just transfer thm to a new card via your pc

nope. It shows your 2x5 digit device code, not your 3x5 digit productcode _________________ GO1005

however because i dont have the product code for the GO 500 SD card can i download the PARIS map using my GO 300 Product code and then install it on to my GO 500 card??
Is the paris map the same for the Go 300 and Go 500.. ie same file content and installed into the same folder on the SD card??

The Map is the same for the whole TT5 Range. It has it's own Folder on the SD Card. _________________ Richard

you dont need an old product code to buy maps from tom tom
when you buy a map they will issue a new 15 digit code that you activate thru ttcode, com using your device code and the new 15 digit code they gave you
this then gives you a code to type in your device and the mapis activated
worked for me this way

It says that it is 4089Kb on the device so you should be OK. I think the maps come with an installer. _________________ Tim |

It says the downloads are via computer, which seems sensible to me. _________________ Tim |
