New maps ready?

I have just noticed on Garmin's site you can now buy the City Navigator Europe v8 DVD.

Does this mean we'll be able to get updated maps on the i3 soon?

Few points.

I only see, V.8 and whatever advertised as update. Does this mean you must have the previous release to purchase?

Garmin charge £90 for just one region on SD card but you can get all regions on the CD. I understand that the CD set can be unlocked for 2 garmin units. Is this true? Thing is - if you are in the UK you might want some European countrie data but not necessarily whole countries.

Can you buy V8 full Europe to use with a couple of I3s on CD and how much is it? THeres 90Mb free on the I3. SD card and you can also buy 512Mb cards now for not a lot now.

With a 512Mb card you could fit all UK/Ireland + a good few selected regions of Europe. The ones you are likely to Fly to and rent a car. Not whole countries but say add the south coast line of Spain + France + Greek islands + Paris , Amsterdam, Prague.

Maybe Garmin should have a £90 SD card with selected European Holiday data on it specific to places people would visit I can see people being prepared to pay £90 for that.
