|
|
I purchased a TomTom 700 today which has the following system versions
5.201
OS: 908
GPS v1.21
Boot: 3.09
Maps: v568
Is the preinstalled map file uptodate or is it possible to update this if not?
Thanks

IIRC the current maps are v.606, so yours are out of date. |

With 5.201 it doesn't sound like it was bought new.... so the free update wouldn't be available? |

I also have the v568 maps.
I left the following message for the Tomtom support Team -
Is it possible to upgrade the maps on my Tomtom Go 700 from 'Western_Europe-Map v568. If so will the new maps have the A120 Braintree to Stanstead Bypass on them.
This was the reply they sent.

Thanks for your mail
At present we have no details regarding map updates/upgrades.
May we suggest that you register for our Newsletters that way you can be kept informed of forthcoming updates/upgrades etc. We usually upgrade every spring.
With best regards,
The TomTom Customer Support Team |
If I knew the new maps they are selling had this road on I might by them anyway. |

Seen that one before! I'm afraid that is a stock reply, they have made no effort to answer your specific question, like almost all e-mail replies from TomTom. You might get a more relevant answer if you can get through on the phone, which takes perseverence, but seems to give much better results for most queries. |

This is indeed correct. I have a 700 just this week and it has the map version 606 on it. |

It was brand new, I've decided to sell it though and buy the TT GO One instead as it'll be perfect for my needs. |
