|
|
Hi all,
can anyone please tell me whether the permanent doking kit has a standard microphone connector or not?
The kit I've seen at my local store does NOT have a connector for the mic, while I've read messages where some people say they have connected they're using the permanent docking kit and external mic together.
Where do you connect the mic while using the docking kit? Are there two different models of this doking kit, one with and one without the microphone connector?
Thanks in advance

it has a external mic connector. The connector is at the back side of the docking shoe, next to the power connector.
The external mic itself is not included _________________ GO1005

No, the one I've seen at the store has NO mic connector. On the back side of the docking shoe there is only the power connector, nothing else.
How can this be? Is it an older/newer model?

True, in fact I have bought it separately, but on the docking kit they have at the store there is no place where to plug it!
Any suggestion/explanation?
Thanks

Does the external microphone provide improved call quality and worth buying or is the builtin mic good enough? |

are you sure they showed you the PDK for GO300/500/700 and not the one for the classic GO? The latter one has no mic connector _________________ GO1005

Uhm, I suspect you're right. There was no "GO 300 500 & 700" sign on the box, but rather a simple "Permanent Docking Kit" with no additional information.
I also called the Tomtom customer support and they told me more or less what you say.
Yesterday I purchased a permanent docking kit from an online store and made sure it was the one labeled GO 300/500/700.
Thanks |

I think so. I've been using an original Nokia handsfree set for years and the external microphone was placed just right above my mouth, near the top of the driver window. The call quality was excellent and people listening to me reported a quality almost as good as a normal home/office phone.
Now I've decided to get rid of the Nokia handsfree set and replace it with the TTG 700 + permanent docking kit + mic. I hope the average quality remains good as it used to be with the Nokia components.
Anyway I'll let you know in few days. As soon as the package arrives I'll get the PDK fit in my car by my car electrician and will be able to test it over a phone call. Stay tuned
Bye

Have you got it setup thorugh your car speakers muting the radio when a call comes in - can this be done ? |
